International students are non-US citizens and non-permanent residents. UU is a SEVP approved school issuing I-20 to students from overseas.
[I-20 Admissions Requirement]
Underwood University (UU) welcomes international Students. Applicants are classified as “international” if they meet any of the criteria listed below.
  • You are not a U.S. citizen and are currently in the United States on an F-1 (Student) Visa.
  • You will require an F-1 visa to enter and study in United States.
  • You are currently in United States on some other visas. Please submit a copy of the visa from your passport.In addition to the University’s general admission requirements, the international students must follow the following procedures:
  • Complete and return the application form.
  • Have the high school and/ or college(s) diploma and official transcript(s) in English.
  • Must prove the applicant’s English proficiency in any category listed below:
  • Official TOFEL (the Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of at least 60 on the Internet-based exam or 173 on the computer-based version. Remember that all score reports must be official. TOFEL scores must be less than two years old if you have not been studying at a U. S. institution since taking the exam. Information regarding the test dates and centers can be found at
  • Equivalent of English 101 and 102 at an accredited U.S. institution and earn a Minimum 2.5 combined GPA for the two courses. This must be reflected on an official transcript.
  • Proof of a bachelor’s degree earned at a post-secondary institution in the U.S.
  • For those who do not have TOEFL score and English 101 and 102 must take ESOL program at UU.
Once a student has been accepted, a physical examination is required. The form to be used by the physician will be provided by UU.
All of the above items should be submitted to Admissions’ Office no later than two (2) months prior to the student’s enrollment. The university will issue a SEVIS (I-20) after the above stated items have been met and approved by the Admissions’ Committee at UU.
